Colombia and Ecuador intercept two narco-submarines

In a joint effort, Colombian and Ecuadorian authorities successfully intercepted two semi-submersible drug-smuggling vessels in their Pacific waters over the weekend, yielding substantial contraband seizures. The Colombian navy, operating near the port of Buenaventura, confiscated a narco-submarine measuring nearly 50 feet, apprehending all three individuals on board. A staggering 795 kilograms (approximately 1,750 pounds) of cocaine were discovered during the operation.

Simultaneously, Ecuador’s armed forces intercepted a similar narco-submarine laden with around three tons of cocaine, arresting three Colombian citizens on board. The ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region has intensified, reflecting the growing challenges faced by both nation.
