La Combattante seized drugs off Martinique
On June 29 , the French Navy patrol vessel LA COMBATTANTE intervened on a sailing yacht. Following a tip-off from the Joint InterAgency Task Force-South (JIATF-S), the yacht was suspected of illicit product trafficking.
Supported by the Customs Coast Guard maritime patrol aircraft, the patrol boat carried out the stop some 200 km south-west of Martinique. A total of 1,700 kg of cannabis and 2 kg of cocaine were seized. The 5 crew members were handed over to OFAST Caraïbe and remanded in custody.
