French Customs Key in Massive Cocaine Seizures: International Cooperation Proves Crucial

French Customs, on March 15th, disclosed that crucial intelligence from the National Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations (DNRED) led to two significant drug busts orchestrated by foreign allies. Nearly 8 tons of cocaine were confiscated across two separate operations: the initial seizure on February 28th by Panamanian coastguards, netting 5,796 kg of cocaine concealed within banana chip containers, and the subsequent interception on March 6th by British and American authorities south of the British Virgin Islands, resulting in the confiscation of 2 tons of cocaine.

The intercepted contraband, unearthed by Panamanian authorities, was evidently earmarked for the European market, marking the largest cocaine seizure ever recorded in Panama. These operations underscore the significance of international collaboration in combatting drug trafficking and underscore the efficacy of French assistance provided to allied nations.
