Indian authorities intercepted a boat in the Arabian Sea near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), seizing 62 kilograms of drugs valued at around ₹480 crore. The operation, dubbed “SAGAR-MANTHAN-2,” was executed by a joint team comprising the Indian Coast Guard, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on March 8.
Acting on specific intelligence, Indian authorities successfully halted the foreign vessel on March 12, approximately 180 nautical miles off the Porbandar coast. The intercepted boat, manned by six Pakistani nationals, was found carrying nearly 60 packets of methamphetamine.
The NCB released a statement confirming the seizure and the arrest of the Pakistani crew members. The detained individuals and the confiscated contraband are being brought in for further investigation. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of Indian law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking in the region.
