Around 141.5 kilograms of cocaine seized in the port of Ereğli

Around 141.5 kilograms of cocaine were seized on 6 October in the Ereğli port of Zonguldak (Turkey) on board a dry cargo ship carrying coal, presumably from Colombia.
The investigation was launched following a report that drugs were being transported on a Panamanian-flagged ship arriving at the port.
The operation was organised by teams from the Customs, Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate of the Zonguldak Police Department, with the participation of police divers from the Izmit district of Kocaeli.
10 crew members, all Filipino nationals, were arrested and detained after being questioned by police and prosecutors.
