Offshore Platform on Fire, a Human Tragedy

A massive explosion on an offshore platform has left at least two people dead and one missing. The unit is located at the Cantarell oil and gas field in the Bay of Campeche.
The fire broke out at 5.25am local time on Friday in the processing centre of the Nohoch Alfa platform. Mexico’s national oil company Pemex said 321 workers had been evacuated.
This incident echoes again of the largest oil spill in history. That caused by the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig on 20 April 2010. Which killed 11 workers and injured 17 others.
