In Singapore, the world’s second largest container port, the Port and Maritime Authority has decided to ban fossil fuels powered harbor craft by 2030.
Only ships with electric propulsion, using B100 biodiesel or running on non-CO2 emitting fuels such as hydrogen will be allowed to dock.
This decision follows on from other commitments of the port, such as the installation this year of charging stations for electric ships. Singapore is aiming for zero CO2 emissions in 2050.
