CTF 150 seizes drugs in the Gulf of Oman

On May 8, 580 kilograms of methamphetamine and 35 kilograms of heroin were seized by USCGC Glen Harris. The value of the drugs seized is estimated at $30 million.
The dhow was not flagged and originated in Iran. She was arrested in the international waters of the Gulf of Oman during a CTF 150 maritime coalition mission.
CTF 150 is one of four task forces organized under the Combined Maritime Forces and is the first drug bust of 2023.
The USCGC is part of PATFRSWA, Patrol Forces Southeast Asia, the U.S. Coast Guard operating in the Middle East.
In October 2022, the Glen Harris made another successful seizure in the Gulf of Oman: $48 million worth of drugs were seized from a fishing vessel.
