A New Leardership for CTF 151

South Korea has taken command of multinational counter piracy Taskforce CTF 151. Thus, the Republic of Korea Navy Rear led by Adm. Ko Seung-bum succeeds to Brazilian Navy Rear Adm. Nelson de Oliveira Leite. The handover took place at the US Navy Base in Bahrain.
CTF 151 was established in 2009, with a specific mission to counter piracy activities within the international waters of the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Somali Basin, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf.
